ABOUT
Immigrant Connection
Immigrant Connection is dedicated to building a community of inclusion by providing low-cost legal services to immigrants to secure permanent residency and citizenship. Our hope is that by assisting eligible immigrants to obtain permanent legal residency they will experience greater access to employment, education, housing, and health services. Our entire community and economy benefit when individuals experience stability and opportunities.
Immigrant Connection at City Life Church is one of eighteen chapters of a national network founded by Wesleyan Methodist Church leaders seeking to build relationships and serve immigrants and refugees in local communities. Immigrant Connection (IC) is recognized by the Department of Justice, and our services include legal representation for green cards and citizenship, petitions for survivors of domestic violence or violent crimes, family-based petitions, temporary protected status, consular processing, work authorization applications, and DACA renewal applications.
In 2015, Immigrant Connection opened its’ doors and served 100 immigrants within the first year. The need for legal services for immigrants in West Michigan was undeniable. In 2016, IC more than doubled the number of clients and, thus, necessitating an increase in staff and volunteers. We are proud to have worked with over 2,000 immigrants to date and this number continues to rise every year.
